The whales are back!

It is that time of year again in Baja Sur California. If you have been waiting for a good reason to make a trip to La Paz, it’s hard to find one larger than this - The whales are back!

La Paz celebrates the life of these amazing creatures in many ways. Upon entering the city from the north, the combined whale’s tail and dove of peace sculpture provide your first official greeting from the city. Once in town, paintings and statues will surprise you in many different locations.

For those who love nature, watching these magnificent creatures is an experience not to miss and to be enjoyed as often as possible. From the feeding grounds in Alaska to the warm waters of Baja, these mammals travel 5000 miles every year to give birth and raise their calves.

Adventurers from all over the globe travel to Baja for the thrill of getting close to these gentle giants. You might choose to stand on the beach and watch them spout from afar or take a boat out and actually get so close you can touch them – a great thrill We invite you not to miss out; as the song goes, "this ain't no practice life" – come on down and make the most of life as it is meant to be lived!

Children's lives brightened by La Paz Gold Cup

Thanks to tremendous community support of the 2008 La Paz Gold Cup Fishing Tournament, the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays were even brighter for the children of La Paz. That support provided $1,000,000 Pesos to three different charities and changed the lives of many people. Donations to the Children's Orphanage, Cuidad de los Ninos, allowed them to complete their new kitchen to better serve the children. Thanks again for all of your support and donations. The sponsors, participants and citizens of La Paz look forward to seeing everyone at the 2009 Gold Cup Tournament coming up in September.

These vistas never cease to amaze and delight, whether you are seeing them for the first time or for the hundredth. As impressive as these sights are from the ground, they take on a totally new dimension when viewed from the air...or from space!

Farewell 2008, Happy New Year 2009!

With 2008 a memory and the dawn of 2009, everyone at Maravia would like to express their appreciation to all those who contributed to the great success experienced by Maravia in 2008.

The friendship, combined with professionalism, has demonstrated, without question, that great things do happen when friends (owners, staff, contractors and officials) work together for common goals.
Thank you very much.
