Fall rain showers awaken the desert flora

Maravia and La Paz typify the beauty of the Baja Sur experience. While the views are always magnificent, there are those special times when circumstances combine to offer extraordinary visual experiences in this Mexican state.

Such has been the case recently as welcome rains have graced this desert paradise. Almost immediately after any sustained precipitation, the flora of the Baja awakens, as witnessed by the following photos. Even as the storm clouds break up and linger in the bright blue sky, the flowers, grass and other native species, which were dormant, explode in a full palette of colors and fragrances to delight the senses.

Add to this bounty of natural foliage the landscaping which is already a part of Maravia Country Club Estates, and the multitude of butterflies attracted to its blossoms, and even the wild horses take notice!

Please enjoy and of course, for the best views, visit us soon - winter weather here is sunny and warm.

Easter Weekend signals the start of Summer in La Paz

As many of our friends and family to the north are still bundling up against the cold and carrying umbrellas to fend off the rain, Easter Weekend in La Paz signals the arrival of Summer! Beaches are full of families enjoying the clear, sunny days, the Malecon is packed with locals and cruise ship passengers and the bay is alive with sailboats, water skiers and windsurfers.
This is the perfect time to visit La Paz and Maravia. Once you arrive, a good place to start is the Maravia Corporate Office, located across the street from Applebee’s and the famous bay walkway known as the Malecon. You’ll always find a warm welcome here, whether you’re an owner or a visitor.
In addition to the conversation and hospitality for which Mexico is known, you’ll find a beautiful and informative “virtual tour” of the Maravia Country Club Estates development at Tecolote Beach right here in the city. Formerly a family home, the Maravia office complex features traditional architecture mixed with impressive landscaping that makes everyone feel at home.
If you haven’t visited Maravia and La Paz recently, this is one of those better times – come, enjoy!

Desalination plant "Mission"

Mexico's Mission Trail stretches the entire length of the Baja peninsula. There are four Missions located in the La Paz area, the largest in the City of La Paz, just a few blocks from the Malecon. In that tradition, Maravia Country Club Estates is honoring these historic structures with the construction of the 1,000,000 gallon per day desalination plant.

The exterior of the plant building is in the process of being "aged" with hand-applied stucco mix and straw. In addition, "exposed" bricks are being crafted into the
outside walls to reinforce the historic charm. Going inside, one will see a totally modern facility with steel girders now in place and ready for installation of the roof.

The "Mission" is quite visible from the Sea of Cortez. Look closely and you can see ond of the ocean-going Baja ferries framed by some of the many cactus trees surrounding the building.
