Mother's Day in La Paz

As Spring continues to rapidly turn into Summer, one can feel a growing excitement in the air. When the temperature rises in La Paz, so does the pursuit of a long-standing tradition that includes expanded enjoyment of the outdoors. From the beach-to-the-street, there are always new activities to enjoy every day.
Although flowers bloom year 'round in La Paz, they seem to be especially beautiful on this Mother's Day. Mother's Day morning started off as it does in many places in the world – a bit slow and reverent.
Other than a statue next to where local fishermen put out to sea each day, the others stayed home and unoccupied boats attest to the fact that there is something very special about this day – they seemed to enjoy a day of rest too.

The streets were comparatively empty but local vendors could be seen at popular cross-streets offering flowers, balloons and fresh orange juice before they too headed back home to enjoy the day.

Always smiling, one "person" remained at his post and seemed very happy to do so – in this setting, why not? As the day proceeded, more and more families were seen walking, stacking the car with goodies for a trip to the beach or the countryside.
Early-birds were joined by others at the newly opened water park. Here, and along the adjacent shoreline there was a lot of just kicking-back and enjoying being with the family. The more adventuresome did some biking, a lot of pier jumping and swimming. Old and young alike seem to never tire of beach combing, which was popular as usual!
Ahhh...it is still early, but just about time for brunch...wonder what they are serving a Capri's? We had a magnificent Mother's Day in La Paz; and we hope where ever you were that you enjoyed your day too.

Easter Weekend signals the start of Summer in La Paz

As many of our friends and family to the north are still bundling up against the cold and carrying umbrellas to fend off the rain, Easter Weekend in La Paz signals the arrival of Summer! Beaches are full of families enjoying the clear, sunny days, the Malecon is packed with locals and cruise ship passengers and the bay is alive with sailboats, water skiers and windsurfers.
This is the perfect time to visit La Paz and Maravia. Once you arrive, a good place to start is the Maravia Corporate Office, located across the street from Applebee’s and the famous bay walkway known as the Malecon. You’ll always find a warm welcome here, whether you’re an owner or a visitor.
In addition to the conversation and hospitality for which Mexico is known, you’ll find a beautiful and informative “virtual tour” of the Maravia Country Club Estates development at Tecolote Beach right here in the city. Formerly a family home, the Maravia office complex features traditional architecture mixed with impressive landscaping that makes everyone feel at home.
If you haven’t visited Maravia and La Paz recently, this is one of those better times – come, enjoy!
